Lamb Souvlaki is a classic Greek dish that’s ready in just 35 minutes and bursting with Mediterranean flavors. What’s better than that? The meat is succulent and juicy after it’s marinated in olive oil, lemon juice, salt, pepper, oregano, garlic and onion! Serve Lamb Souvlaki with a cucumber, tomato and feta salad for an authentic meal.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds lamb, trimmed of fat, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 2 lemons, juiced
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
- 1 tablespoon dried oregano
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 medium onion, minced
Directions
Step 1 -Combine the olive oil, the lemon juice, the salt, the pepper, the oregano, the garlic, and the onion in a mixing bowl.
Step 2 -Toss the meat in the marinade.
Step 3 -Cover and chill for 2 hours and up to 24 hours.
Step 4 -Thread the meat onto skewers.
Step 5 -Grill until the meat has a char on all sides.
Step 6 -Serve warm.
