- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 pound ground sausage, without casings
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 2 2/3 cups milk
- kosher salt, to taste

- 1 (8-count) can large biscuits
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

Step 2 -Grease the bottom of an 8×8-inch baking dish.
Step 3 -Adjust the oven rack to the lower middle position.

Step 7 -Add the flour to the sausage mixture and gently stir until it is fully incorporated.
Step 8 -Add the milk to the sausage mixture and stir to combine.
Step 9 -Add the kosher salt and the black pepper to the sausage mixture, bring it to a low boil, and cook, while stirring, until the sauce thickens to the desired gravy consistency.
Step 10 -Cut the biscuits into even quarters.
Step 11 -Evenly layer 1/2 of the biscuit quarters into the bottom of the prepared baking dish and bake, uncovered, until they are puffy and golden-brown, about 10 minutes.
Step 12 -Carefully transfer the baking dish from the oven and evenly spoon the gravy over the baked biscuits.
Step 13 -Evenly place the remaining biscuit quarters on top of the gravy.
Step 14 -Loosely cover the dish with the foil and bake for 14 minutes.
Step 15 -Discard the foil and bake until the tops of the biscuits are puffy and golden-brown, about 10 minutes.
Step 16 -Garnish the casserole with the parsley and serve immediately.
